The Arkham Inn Empty The Arkham Inn

Post by The Rolling Chaos Thu Jan 26, 2017 10:46 pm

The Arkham Inn Arkham14

Standing solemnly in the darkest corner of the commerce district towers the Arkham Inn. The three story tall building creaks when the wind blows too powerfully. Vines creep up through the concrete and up the walls, and although the building itself is a relatively new addition the arena, it has lingering scent of dust and decay, as if it has been standing for centuries. In front of the inn amidst the broken and aged cobblestones stands a lone tree engulfed in vines and thorns.

The innards of the inn are just as decrepit as the outside. The old doors open wide into a large open lobby. The open floor plan is filled with old Victorian era tables and chairs. Oil lanterns flicker and fill the inn with an eerily unsettling light. At the far end of the room is a large, rusted, spiral staircase leading to the upper levels. Though sparse, the bar does have patrons milling about, cloaked figures, strange and horrible bipedal aquatic creatures, and standing behind the bar is the tall and menacing Nyarlothotep, smiling from ear to ear.

The Arkham Inn Empty Re: The Arkham Inn

Post by Razzak The Unchained Thu Feb 02, 2017 10:53 am

Razzak had finally arrived at the decrepit inn. He checked the map again.

"So this is the Nyarlothotep's place" he muttered. It looked as though I hadn't seen use in the past few decades.

He pulled the door open, surprised the rotted piece of oak didn't come off its hinges. Razzak was astounded the outside of the inn looked bad, the inside looked even worse. Foliage fought to reclaim the building. The floor made loud creaks with each stem the massive lizardman took. He noticed the patrons. Some covered their faces with hoods. Others didn't revealing faces with fish like eyes, pale skin, and tentacles where their mouths should have been. Those were the ones he took the effort to describe. Other were.....beyond words.

He found his way to the bar and looked an the seat. He put some pressure on the rotten stool and it collapsed. He turned to the bartender "Think I'll just stand."

"First one's on the house" The short man said in a voice that gurgled as though he was submerged underwater. He place a small glass in front of Razzak, its contents; swirling masses of green, dark purple, and splashes of gold. Razzak cold swear he saw a small tentacle pop out only to recess back into what he could barely describe as a liquid. He grasped the glass, braced himself, said a short word to the great dragons and drank the contents in one fast go.

The Arkham Inn Empty Whisperer in the Darkness

Post by The Rolling Chaos Fri Feb 03, 2017 12:05 am

As soon as the last drop of liquid slid down Razzak's throat things in the bar started to get a little weird. The walls seemed to melt away into blackness and the bar seemed to collapse in on itself. He could hear whispers in a language that was somehow both completely foreign, but also strangely familiar.

He could the whispers growing gradually louder, he turned and found himself standing before a doorway of solid blackness. Even with the walls and the patrons disappearing all around him into nothingness, this patch was particularly dark. He found himself remembering the clothes that the strange man in the office had been wearing.

Now the bar had completely faded into nothingness, all that was left was Razzak and this strange doorway.

The Arkham Inn Empty Re: The Arkham Inn

Razzak did all he could to not gag. The drink did not go down like a common liquid, but slowly slithered down his throat. But it was not just this that made Razzak want to vomit. It was the smell and the taste. A sensitive sense of taste and smell were a double edged sword, in this case his nose bombarded Razzak with the aroma of the sea at low tide, rotten fish, and fermented seaweed. Those were the only smells he could identify many others assaulted his senses, he went to grasp the table and found it had disappeared. He opened his eyes to see unending darkness. The bar had faded away, leaving nothing but black.

Razzak looked and looked for a way out and beheld door. It had appeared out of no where, just within arm's reach. "How did I miss it?" Razzak though. He could've sworn he had looked over his surroundings at least twice before he had found the door just inches in front of him.

Seeing no other way Razzak grasped the handle and with every bit of strength he had, shoved the door open.

The Arkham Inn Empty A Dragon schemes

Post by DragonWithTheS Thu Feb 16, 2017 11:07 am

The door to the Arkham inn swung open under it's own power, allowing one of the lords of the arena, Shib in his human form, to enter. a small flick of his hand closed the door, and he took in the patrons of the Inn with a quick flick of his reptilian eyes. His well tailored copper-colored suit matched the gleam in his eyes and served to magnify the aura of importance he carried with him. Shib turned to look at the monster manning the bar and said, in his usual abrupt manner.

"Please send down Mr. Nyarlothotep. I have a proposition for him."
